Liu, Xueyan Studio website launched in Nov. 2018

I finally put in the time and effort to setup my website to showcase paintings and sketches I have accumulated in the past 3 years or so.

It’s a great process to see what I have learned and improved along the way. It also shows areas where I am lacking and gives a hint the direction I am going from here.

After taking drawing and painting lessons from David Dong at Sancai arts from 2016, my technical skills have improved a lot.

But I have reached a bottle neck where my learning has plateaued. Painting is a constant struggle. You need a strong nerve to face a blank paper or canvas and make something out of it.

It’s time to slow down and think.
